The media coverage of Provia Labs – Grace Century’s dental stem cell storage technology project partner – continues.
CBS12 News recently compiled a special report covering the possibilities afforded by storing dental stem cells, highlighting the use of Provia Labs dental cell stem storage technology product Store-A-Tooth – in future cures for multiple conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, the regrowth of spinal cord tissue, heart, brain and bone conditions and in particular Type 1 Diabetes.
The report features 15-year-old Beau Gonne, who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes 5 years ago. His parents have stored dental stems cells from his baby teeth in the hope that a cure for the condition will be found in future years. Dr. Frank May, Beau’s dentist who carried out his baby teeth extractions described the storage of dental stem cells as a “no-brainer” and confirmed that he himself has stored the dental stems cells of his children, describing it as an “insurance policy”.
