US government initiative to promote easier use of electronic medical records

Under the direction of President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, the MyHealthEData initiative will assist in helping nearly 60 million beneficiaries to securely access claims data, which can then be shared with their doctors. The program will be facilitated by Medicare, and will aim to alleviate the lack of communication and general clunkiness experienced in electronic medical records systems since their introduction.

Blue Button 2.0, is a program being worked on by Medicare to give beneficiaries secure access to their claims data, which can then be shared with doctors. Ultimately, the program’s aim is to give patients the ability to use their data to make informed decisions about their treatment.

Scott Wolf, President and Director of Research for Grace Century, commented on the news “This is exactly what PWeR, our portfolio project Quantum’s electronic medical records platform, was designed for”.
