According to a recent report on CBNC, Amazon has has been researching the design of tailored digital technologies for the over 50’s since 2015.

The article reports on how Amazon has been in discussions with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) , an organisation which represents people over 50, to look at potential collaborations, share research and design technology for aging populations.

Amazon VP of Special Projects Babak Parviz said recently  “Something…we’ve been building for some period of time and we deeply care about… relates to what happens to older people. We have looked at the older population in the context of health… and we know this group has a lot of issues and unmet needs,”

The AARP commented “As part of our mission to be everyday innovators in aging, we meet regularly with other innovators that may be able to improve the lives of older Americans.”

Grace Century President and Director of Research Scott Wolf commented “The internet of things is invading every aspect of today’s life, and this article on CNBC is the proof. This is a market that is expected to grow from $3 Billion to $30Billion over the next few years and Blue Box, one of Quantum’s brainchildren,  is positioned exactly here”.
